What do you do?

Simonson Technology Services is a UNIX and Linux instruction and consulting company. Our primary areas of focus are Sun Microsystems hardware and software, including kernel and network internals, EMC storage arrays, Oracle and Veritas Volume Manager. In addition, we have expertise in the areas of E15K, E10K, Sun Cluster, Sun Kernel development, Network development, Jumpstart, IPQoS, Sun Resource Manager, as well as Linux and Open Source software. Our senior consultants teach courses for various customers all over the United States, Internationally. In addition, we also advise customers about best practices, and assist customers in implementing new hardware and software technologies. We also develop custom courses for customers who have a requirement for something that we haven't written.

Do you do Windows, or Office?

Presently we do not offer any classes that teach Microsoft software products. Consider the alternative: Linux and Open Source Software. Use your existing hardware and virtually eliminate licensing costs for many IT Infrastructure needs. Excellent candidates for Open Source software include: core services such as file, e-mail, and printing. Web servers, DNS servers, databases, even office productivity suites are available. Talk with us about migrating your infrastructure away from the dark side. We are developing new course offerings all the time. We may have an Open Source course that fits your needs already.

How much do your services cost?

For classes, pricing depends on the material, and level of the course you are interested in. Custom development will also increase cost. Examples of prices include: $2495 for our 5 day introductory UNIX administration class to $3750 for our 5 day Veritas Volume Management on Solaris class. Consulting services are billed on a project basis. Costs depend on duration, complexity, travel, etc.
