Course Description: This course is designed to provide basic functional system administration skills, both in actual administration and in the troubleshooting of common failures. Practical exercises are provided, both for administration and troubleshooting. On completion of the course, the student will be able to perform routine system administration tasks with little assistance, and be capable of assisting with more complex tasks with supervision. They should be familiar with the basic administrative areas of the Solaris system, and should be ready for further training after obtaining some additional practical experience.
Who Can Benefit: This course is intended for students with a basic knowledge of Unix as a user, but no System Administration knowledge or experience.

Prerequisites: Incoming students are expected to know vi and tar, as well as basic Unix terminology
